Oya Chukichi Honten (Hakuyo Shuzo) 

    Chukichi Oya began his career as a master brewer founding his own Sake brewery, Oya Chukichi Honten, in 1879. The current president is the fifth-generation president and the third president, Chuichiro Oya, was a poet as well as a brewer of Sake and he studied under the poet Sakutaro Hagiwara while managing the brewery. He also served as the president of the Fukushima Prefecture Society of Poets.

     The store faces the old Oshu Road and is flanked on both sides by storehouses finished with shikkui. The buildings are considered to provide a scene representative of Shirakawa. Further back, there are three large cellars and one of them has a brick chimney. This structure is thought to have been built when the brewery was first founded in 1879.

Designated as a Historically Scenic Landmark by Shirakawa City on July 21st, 2011.
