Niwa Nagashige Mausoleum
Important Cultural Property of Shirakawa City (building)
Niwa Nagashige was the first Lord of Shirakawa Fife(1627) who carried out the large-scale renovation of the Komine Castle and the development of the castle town.
In 1836, Niwa Nagashige Mausoleum was built for the 200th anniversary of his death. The mausoleum is rectangular and situated on a site with stone retaining walls on three sides. In the middle of the site and to the back,his cemetery is located. The front of the mausoleum connects to the grave where a shrine has been erected.
Designated as a Historically Scenic Landmark by Shirakawa City on November 11th, 2011.
